"Blame it, this whole thing is just as easy and awkward as it can be. And so it makes it so rotten difficult to get up a difficult plan."-This show that Tom is impractical and likes to do stuff the most difficult way possible.
"It ain't no crime in a prisoner to steal the thing he needs to get away with, Tom said; it's his right; and so, as long as we was representing a prisoner, we had a perfect right to steal anything on this place we had the least use for to get ourselves out of prison with."-This shows that Tom has kind of a twisted perception of what is morally right.
"I hain't ever done you no harm. You know that. So, then, what you want to come back and ha'nt ME for?"-This quote shows that Tom is superstitious.
"so, coming down the river, me and Tom thought it would be a first-rate surprise for him to come here to the house first, and for me to by and by tag along and drop in, and let on to be a stranger."-This shows that Tom has a sense of Humor and is a real jokester.
"Everybody said it was a real beautiful oath, and asked Tom if he got it out of his own head. He said, some of it, but the rest was out of pirate-books and robber-books, and every gang that was high-toned had it."-This quote shows that Tom's religion is his literature because he wants to do everything by the books.
